[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Featured Image not working with Nextgen

  • I’m using Headway Themes and I cannot get posts to show featured images when I select them from a Nextgen library. I’ve tried to Google some possible solutions, but the ones I’ve found seem to be theme specific. Is this a known bug, and will this be worked out? As of now, I’ve had to settle on using the stock WP media library for featured images.

    having same issue. Thought it was the featured content plug in I’m using but it seems to be across the board.

    My theme is Coraline.

    Edit: the stock wp gallery is cropping my images which is why I prefer ngg. Hope this gets sorted out soon.

    It’s been my experience this is an issue with how NextGen writes the images into the post. Test it out and look for this:

    When it writes the NextGen images, it does so with just single quotes.

    vs. using double quotes for an image out of media library or off your hard drive.

    I used to be able to find the fix for it, but I can’t locate it now. I spent about 15 minutes trying to search for it. It’s been that way since I started using the plugin two years ago.

    Here’s the solution. It solves most scenarios and avoids you from uploading a separate image when you can just select one from NGG and click “Use as a featured image”. It works great for me.
