• I just today installed the latest nextgen gallery (1.1.0) and I still can not upload images. I receive this message after the image seems to finish uploading:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class nggimage in //blahblahblah\wp-content\plugins\nextgen-gallery\lib\image.php on line 9

I have checked my file permissions for the gallery folder and they are set to 777. I look and find that in the gallery it has tried to load an image, but it is broken and it has a wrong date associated with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • I just cant leave the site in PHP 5… it just runs uber slow. But images DO upload in PHP 5.

I too am receiving this error problem. I am self hosting via EasyCGI one of WordPress’s partners. I can create the gallery OK, but the moment I try to upload na image I get this error. I have tried with and without flash upload enabled and still get the problem.

    Any help gratefully received.

I think is a bug on the new version.
1:After I upload my photos I got the error but the photos and thumbs are created fine.

2:In Gallery settings if I try to set any changes as watermark etc the same error occurs.

    Any Help Please!

I just installed yesterday and am getting the same error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class nggimage in //nawinfs02\home\users\web\b279\rh.seansweb\blog\wp-content\plugins\nggallery\lib\image.php on line 9

as noted above it gives the error but will upload image one at a time according to the admin panel. But, if I FTP the actual directory all the images are actually uploaded.

    Thanks for any help…

I think the above issue may have something to do with the metadata. When I try to import metadata it gives the same error, and when I add my pictures one at a time, they all are dated Dec 31, 1969. Hopefully that gives a hint to what may be going on.

yes – i have the same issue.. all images are dated Dec 31, 1969

I am having the same problems.

I have tried several approaches to the problem. Most recently, I uploaded directly to a gallery folder and then select SCAN FOLDER FOR NEW IMAGES, and still does the same, only recognizes one image at a time and give me the fatal error. I can repeat the steps and get another image recognized, but it follows with the fatal error again. I’m looking for another gallery plugin, too many problems and clients to convince the extra steps are worth it and it saying it be resolved soon.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class nggimage in …..

    NexGen 1.2.1
    WP 2.7.1

I am having the thumbnail problem and have been getting this error:

    ID 177: A failure occurred
    [more]
    [object XMLHttpRequest]

I can upload a picture it’s just the thumbnail that keeps failing!

    Please help!

I read this post which started over two months and ago, and still no solution. Talk about bad support! Where are the people from NextGEN for support?

    NEED HELP. IT DOESN’T WORK.

Is there a resolution to this error yet? Works great on one of my blogs, the other (different host) nope. Help.

I am getting the failure messages every time I upload images. However, the images ARE getting uploaded AND the thumbnails DO get created. When ever I click on the MORE link, I just get sent back to the manage gallery page. I am having problems editing the thumbnails though.

I am still having this problem. I have found a workaround but it is a pain. Please Alex…. give some support on this issue.

I am getting the same error.
Is anything being done to resolve this?

Is there anything I can provide to help work out what is going on?

    Thanks
    Derek
