[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] External web link within thumbnail possible?

Recently came across a situation where I thought a really cool solution would be the following if it’s possible:
When clicking on a web design portfolio album, instead of having screenshots of the different pages, I thought it would be interesting if you could make a new window/tab pop up when you click on the thumbnail.
I know I can do it a different way easily, but if it’s possible within nextgen I want to know about it.
