[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Exit Button from Lightbox

I’d like to add an X or some other visible button viewers can click to close the lightbox and go back to the gallery display on the page.

It doesn’t have to be fancy – it could literally be the letter X before the >> symbol at the bottom right. Is there a relatively easy way to do this that I have missed?

By the way, the plug-in is great.
