[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Cubic Thumbnail not working since update

I’ve updated to 1.4.3 and now it’s not possible to generate cubic thumbnails. i’ve used them for my design, so it’s a pitty it doesn’t work anymore.
as i don’t find a note in the changelog i think it’s a mistake, or?
