[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Created a gallery but can't insert it

I have the most recent Nextgen Gallery plugin 1.93. I created a gallery. All permissions seem good. Then when I go to Upload/Insert -> NextGen Gallery -> select my gallery (shows up fine) -> then my only option is Save Changes – which I press and nothing happens.
I have a child theme but the gallery is in the main theme folder – is this ok?
Any ideas? I am a newbie with this plugin. Tried in both FF12 and Chrome.
