[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Captions below Slideshow

  • I didn’t see an option to put a caption below each picture while a slideshow cycles. Is this option available at all? If not, is it planned for future updates?

    I tried using another plugin to extract the title tag as a caption but the photos’ title tags aren’t the same as the tags I set them in the Gallery Options page for a slideshow. The title tags are correct when I view as a gallery, but not for slideshows.

    This would be really useful, I just can’t see a way to do it, anyone else manage to do this?

    I am no expert at this stuff, but I have installed Nextgen gallery along with Nextgen galleryview in an attempt to get captions on a slideshow. As I said I am new to all this (not new to computers or programming). I am stunned that as ahugely popular plugin, there appears to be no way to include captions in a slideshow. I was able to get NG Galleryview to show captions and descriptions. Trouble is the captions are unreadable dark font on dark background. In addition single quotes are replaced with ‘slash single quote’. Descriptions appear nicely in white but are tiny.
    I tried to look at the code to see where font and color are specified, but no luck so far. The project is not worth spending a week to sleuth this out. I sure thought I could have a slideshow with captions. I see from various forums that others have been asking for this for a few years now.
    I can only assume it is not a widely needed capability.
