  • If you can, create a php file which will independently confirm the version you are running. Use AlleyCode or NotePad and copy the following line:

    <?php phpinfo() ?>

    Save it as ‘version.php‘ then upload it to the root directory of your website. Use your browser and type “https://www.yourwebsitename.com/version.php

    You will get the actual version you are running. If it is under 5.2, contact your hosting company and ask them to upgrade you.
