[Plugin: MyCurator] Nothing shows up in Private Training Blog
-
Haven’t had much luck with my posts showing up in the private training blog, even with API running and check make live. A step by step manual with images would be a big help.
-
Sorry you are having problems. We looked in the logs, and your Topic Search 1 keywords includes QE3. A short word like that (even though popular) sometimes gets ignored by the software. Try removing the QE3 word and see if you start to get posts.
We are working on a fix where you can add short keywords for your site so the system won’t ignore them, hopefully out in the next release.
Finally, we are developing a manual to go along with our training videos.
I seem to be having the same challenge in seeing posts in my training site.
Any suggestions?
There are usually a couple of reasons for not seeing any posts on the training page. Both can be researched by looking at the Logs that MyCurator creates – go to the Logs menu item under MyCurator in the Dashboard. We have some detailed documentation on the logs at https://www.target-info.com/documentation-2/documentation-logs/
The first issue is that your articles are being filtered by your keywords and not passing their screen. When you get to the Logs page, you will see each article processed by MyCurator and what happened to it. If you see that the articles are too short or that certain keywords were not found, you can adjust your topic information to make sure the articles pass the filter process.
If you don’t see any articles listed in the Activity log, most likely your feed is not providing articles because of errors. Choose Error from the drop down (it should say Activity initially) and press Select Filter. This page will show you any errors that MyCurator has found. You may find errors related to invalid feeds or that no Feed URL has been entered. These errors will prevent MyCurator from processing any articles.
Please refer to the detailed documentation about logs to learn about the specific messages and actions to take.
Hi,
I can’t get this to work either. There is stuff listed in the Activity log but nothing showing in Training Page.I did have a couple of errors show up in the log but I have since attepted to fix them only i’m not sure they are actaully fixed as I’m not sure how long it will take to run the queries again?
The MyCurator process will run every 3,6, 12 or 24 hours depending on the duration you set in the Options menu item for MyCurator – Run MyCurator Every…
You can also go to the Topics menu item and click the button labeled Run AI Process at the top left of the page. This will force MyCurator to process your feeds and topics right now.
If you are still having problems with no articles showing up in the training page, could you post some of the error and or activity log messages you are getting?
Hi mtilly,

2012-09-29 14:56:56 37 Dawson Street ACTIVITY All posts older than 60 days Twitter SearchGr1f,
Thanks for posting the activity log. The number 37 in your search 1 phrase is what is causing the problem – similar to the QE3 above. The current version of our cloud process ignores short words and numbers, requiring 4 characters and larger. Since the whole phrase “37 Dawson” must be found in the article, it is not finding any articles. We are in final testing of a new version that will allow short words and numbers that are in your topic keywords. This new version should be up by the weekend, and won’t require an upgrade of your local MyCurator software. I’ll post here and on our blog when its up.
As you can see in the listing, many of your feeds have no recent posts, nothing earlier than 60 days. This will also limit what is found and posted to the training page.
mtilly, OK I get you thanks.
What about wrapping the phrase in quotes? Like “37 Dawson”?Look forward to the weekend! ??
Gr1f, By using quotes around a phrase, MyCurator requires that the words appear in that exact order within an article. Without the quotes, the words just need to appear anywhere in the article.
At this point, until the fix goes up, the 37 will cause a problem with or without quotes. Even after the fix, a phrase such as “37 Dawson” will probably still exclude a lot of articles.
A work-around would be to keep your Search 1 Keywords broad – just “Dawson” – and let the AI Relevance system figure it out through your training. You would get a bunch of articles in your training page (as long as they had at least one of your Search 2 keywords). Train a lot of them as good or bad, and the AI system should get very good at figuring out what you are looking for and classifying them correctly. This may take a few days, but could be a better way to go even with the fix, as it would catch articles that you want to see but they didn’t actually have the number, or spelled it out.
mtilly, I had the same problems, that is no articles showing on training page. I solved that and now articles are beginning to show; however when I go to training page there is no Topics heading with bad, good or not sure.
Also, under each article there are no training buttons. Suggestions?thanks, Len
lenj2020,
Please go to the Dashboard and choose the Training Posts menu item. You should see a list of your training posts. I’d like to know if any of the columns do not have any values. Maybe a screen print if you can.
You might want to follow up through the Contact Us tab on the website at https://www.target-info.com/contact-us/ as we may need some more details that you don’t want public.
I’ll post the answer we come up with back here.
The Training Posts list did not have any values for the Relevance column, just as they did not show up on the Training page. This is the result of using a value of “Filter” in the Choose Type field for a Topic. The Filter option means the AI Relevance engine is turned off, so only the keywords are used to filter the articles. They are not classified as good or bad and you can not train them.
There is a bug which will be fixed in the next release. The Training posts created with a type of Filter should still have the [Make Live] button active so you can move the posts to the live blog as well as the trashcan to delete them.
The new cloud processing version is up, so you can use 2 or 3 characters in your topic keywords, including numbers. See the updated documentation
Finally, we are developing a manual to go along with our training videos.
Anything yet on this upcoming manual ?
Yes, its up on the site at https://www.target-info.com/documentation-2/. It went up with version 1.1.3 release on Sept. 19th.
