• Hi there,

One moment it was working perfectly, I added a sub-page to one of my menu header pages and something broke.

    see: https://wbc.testingbydavid.co.uk

accross the top it should say:
    About Us | Community Life | What’s On | Resources | News & Views

Instead it’s put ‘Home’ where it should say ‘About Us’ and then the sub-pages of ‘About Us’ are expanded at the right hand end of the menu.

If I reorder the sub menus – it works.

Just not sure why my ‘About Us’ menu is now expanded and become top level!

    Any clues?

I’ve applied a Child Theme to TwentyTen in order to customise the styling – but the header.php is original TwentyTen still.

    I’m stumped

    Cheers

    David

    David,

That does seem strange. On the Twenty Ten theme that navigation bar falls back to using wp_page_menu if you don’t define one of the new Navigation Menus. Without modifying header.php there’s not much you can do.

An easy workaround is to just use the new Navigation Menu built into WP 3.0, that’s what I did on my site using Twenty Ten. That way you’ll have full control over what shows up.
