[Plugin: My Category Order] How do you use this plug-in

  • How do you use this plug-in? I installed it. When I choose “Order Categories” from the plug-ins display, it goes to my category listing. I cannot “drag-and-drop” anything in there. Further, it lists all of my categories.

    I want to reorder the categories as they appear in a side menu on my website. This are the top level categories, not all categories. I have over 200 sub-categories. I have 12 top-level categories. The 12 are the ones I want to re-order.

    I don’t know how to use this plug-in to order my categories. I cannot find any help as to how to use it.

    If all of your subcategories have their parent set to one of the 12 top level categories it should work. If the top level category has children, it should show up in a dropdown with a “Order Subcategories” button next to it.

    Initially the plugin will display what it thinks are top level categories (parent = 0). If every single category shows up that means the hierarchy isn’t setup. Are you using some plugin to handle the subcategory assignment?

    If the drag and drop doesn’t work then another plugin is doing something wrong and breaking the JavaScript in the plugin.
