I am not sure if anyone has seen this, but I had some new users sign up and they showed once in the network side, but multple times in the lower sites. It seemed to be based on the settings being changed for the other site defaults. Some had 2 entries others has 5. Seems like there is a bug when you make the changes and users get re-assigned.

  • I’m seeing it as well on my Multisite.

    Which settings do you mean?

I can’t reproduce this bug in WordPress 3.3.1 attempting all of the following:

    • Changing default role under Network Settings page (eg. example.com/wp-admin/network/settings.php)
    • Removing default role for a site, then adding a new default role in the Network Settings page
    • Changing a user’s details/settings in the network admin Edit User page (eg. example.com/wp-admin/network/user-edit.php?user_id=X)
    • Changing a user’s details/settings on a site’s Edit User admin page (eg. example.com/site2/wp-admin/user-edit.php?user_id=3)

Without steps to reproduce the bug, there is nothing I can do.
