[Plugin: mTouch Quiz] Audio Shortcode in WordPress: Player limits

Adding audio short code in mTouch quiz question; WordPress audio player works, but requires new page/tab. Use [audio:http:sample_site.com/wp_content/uploads/year/month/name.mp3]
…which normally embeds a player that keeps user on page (combined graphics, words, sound).
In mTouch this is not possible. The normal WordPress audio player link works, but on its own page. Would like to preserve audio in the question page with text and graphics. Tried adding <p> tags, which are required in regular WordPress posts for embedded player, but didn’t help.
Any ideas?
