[Plugin: MP3-jPlayer] Sometimes player says connecting, but never plays

  • Sometimes player says “connecting”, but it is very long to start playing or it doesn’t play at all (or maybe after a very long delay). However, there is nothing wrong in the mp3 link or in the file. This problem is very difficult to reproduce, it just happens from time to time and unexpectedly (whatever the browser). Then If I try a few minutes later it actually works… it gets me crazy!
    It seems that this problem happens more and more frequently, so I feel that the more mp3 I have in my library, the more connection problems I have. Right now I have 60 mp3 in my library and around 30 posts using the player.
    Does anybody else face the same problem and is there any solution?

    For information, I have the same website installed in my computer, with WampServer, and in that case I have no problem.
    So, I wonder if my problem is not related to some king of Bandwidth limitation of my web hosting…

    What filesize are your songs? I’m having the same problem but I think it’s due to the fact they’re 100-120Mb files I want to play!

    I use small MP3 files (3-4 Mb). I still have this problem time to time, and I think this is due to my web hosting. Maybe the quality of my web hosting is not good enough for audio streaming, or maybe there is a kind of limitation in the server configuration.

    you might want to try making sure all your mp3s are of the same bit rate, sample rate, joint stereo or not, variable bit rate or not. Using 192 bit rate is best, 44.1k, non vbr (variable bit rate), joint stereo.

    But I have had a lot of issue with the single player. when I use the playlist player for single tracks, it always works, and the player interface looks much better. Try using the playlist version but only use one track.

    yes, the 100-120mb files are too big, use mp3s.
