[Plugin: Movable Type and TypePad Importer] Fails on any post with diacritics, non-standard quote ma

I just imported 1,300 posts from a a TypePad account with this plug-in. Every single post with any kind of high-ASCII character was truncated after the first one appeared.
This is pretty poor. Had to manually recreate about 500 posts. Would have saved a lot of time if I’d done them all manually, I think.
