[Plugin: Mingle] Link to user’s profile instead of WP default author archive page?

I was wondering if there was a way to edit this plugin so that the URL to a post’s author links to the profile page of the user instead of the default author archive page (like the way Alkivia Open Community did it). By default, when you use the author link template tag on a post, it goes to /author/username and what I want to do is make it so that it says /username (URL of user profile). Thanks in advance.
