[Plugin: Mingle Forum] Friendly permalinks

  • Thank you so much for this plugin. Mingle + Mingle forum = amazing!

    I tried buddypress and it actually does not a basic feature such as a general forum. It only has group forums and it takes a lot of coding to make it fully adjust to your theme. Mingle + Mingle forum = amazing!

    One of the major things missing from Mingle forum are nice and friendly permalinks. I tried manually adjusting them in .htaccess but no luck ??

    Is there any way to make this plugin have nice permalinks?

    Is it not possible with a apache rewrite using the permalink structure of wordpress?

    I’m working on a more simplistic approach but yes it will use a permalink like structure and help greatly with SEO purposes.

    Thanks for the wordpress 3.0.1 compatible mingle forum.

    I have the following prob:

    1. I went to wordpress plugin directory. Found out ‘Mingle forum’ plug in. Installed it and activated it.

    2. I can see the admin menu of mingle forum in the left side of my wordpress admin panel. Did my settings right – created a category and a forum.

    But problem is – I do not see anything reflecting in my front end.

    Just wanted to understand what I am doing wrong. I read the upload instructions for the plug-in. I probably missed one step which says I have to put mingleforum between []. I am not very sure about how to do it and where to do it. If this is what is going wrong in the process, then requesting you to kindly elaborate. Else, if some other thing needs to be taken care of – please guide.

    Disclaimer:: I am a newbie here (to the wolrd of wordpress, plugins etc.) Don’t know much of tech.

    @raw_ni, make sure you created a page and pasted [mingleforum] into it.

    @cartpauj any updates on the friendly permalinks?

    That would be awesome. Great plugin BTW. amazingly easy to configure and it didn’t take me 8 hours to integrate with the site like a standalone script would ??
