[Plugin: MimeTypes Link Icons] Not working in widget

I can’t seem to get your plugin to work with links to a pdf in a text/html sidebar widget. I’m using links similar to following and have the widget auto add paragraphs. Do I need to do something else?

I want a list of newsletters with icons listed in a footer widget and use your plugin on a few other sites (but not like this yet).

Any ideas? Have tried it with all variations of the plugin settings.
