• Dear Josh

Here’s the problem: I’m using Meteor slides to show a series of images of different students in a class website. I want the slides to cycle, but I’d like them start on a different person each time to be “fair” rather than based on post publication date.

If I use metadata “random: 1” then it stops the cycling of the other slides (will only advance if the slide is clicked).

Is there any way to just start at a different post each time but keep the automatic cycling of images so every few seconds a new image appears? I think this may be possible with your cycling widget but I’ve got confused… ??

    Thank you

    Imogen

Setting the slideshow to random shouldn’t stop the slides from cycling. Are you using the shortcode? Here’s an example of what that would look like:

    [meteor_slideshow metadata="random: 1"]

Can you post a link to the site you’re working on or the template tag or shortcode you’re using to load the slideshow?

I’d say I was having finger trouble (blushes…) because it’s working fine now I’ve retyped the command… thank you so much!
