    Hi there,

I am using TwentyEleven theme and attempting to use the MetaSlider for my site. Yet I can’t get it to display properly. I’ve installed it, created my slide, and it previews correctly. When I go to enter the ShortCode and Template Code, they don’t seem to work. The page actually prints the ShortCode as if it was plain text.

I gotta be doing something wrong here, every tutorial makes it seem simple, yet I can’t get it to display. Help?

The issue can be found here: https://bladetechhockey.ca/slider/ (Password: slider)
It works with other themes: Haven’t Tried
It works when I disable all other plugins: No
    Meta Slider version:2.3 Beta

I am now getting both codes, the ShortCode and the Template Usage code appearing as plain text.

The Template Usage code is pasted into any file (header.php, index.php etc.) and literally prints to the page as…

    [metaslider id=164]

There has to be something going on here, the wordpress backend or something. Nothing is displaying as it should…

    Hi uudesigns,

Do any shortcodes work? If not then it seems unlikely its directly related to Meta Slider. I would try disabling all other plugins and switching to a different theme (preferably an unmodified copy of twenty twelve or thirteen)

    Regards
    Tom

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for getting back to me as I do need this resolved ASAP.

Basic default shortcodes such as [gallery] and [audio] work. But nothing related to metaslider.

I have attempted to “Live Preview” with a new theme, TwentyTwelve, unmodified, and it still does not appear correctly. The shortcode was still printed to the page. This makes me believe it isn’t a problem with the theme.

    Hi uudesigns,

Earlier you said that it previewed correctly, so I’m not sure whats going on. The preview uses the shortcode itself so something there has changed.

Could you disable all other plugins? I’m pretty sure it will be a conflicting plugin somewhere.

    Regards,
    Tom.

I have disabled all other plugins and still nothing. The only other plugin I was using was Social Media Toolbar.

The preview displays correctly, but wordpress is treating the code as plain text for some reason.

I’ve exhausted most if not all options to get this to work right. I have a good understanding of html and php, which is why this is even more puzzling to me…

And by preview correctly I mean in the Meta Slider Tab, when I click save and preview it shows up. Not when I preview my page with the code inside.

uudesigns has upgraded to Meta Slider Pro so we’ll be dealing with this issue using our support system. I’ll update this thread with a solution/details of the problem once it’s been found.

    Regards,
    Tom.

    Hi GlaP,

If I remember correctly there were 2 installations of WordPress on uudesigns server – one for the admin, and one for the front end. They were both using the same database, but with different plugins installed.

    Regards,
    Tom
