[Plugin: MediaElement.js – HTML5 Video & Audio Player] No Volume slider for audio playback on iP

The audio player works fine in Safari 5.12 and Firefox 9 on my Mac. However, on the iPad 2 running current iOS 5, there’s no volume slider (in Safari or Atomic Web Browser). No speaker icon – the GUI ends after the ‘total duration’ indicator.

Is this normal behavior?

If not, what can be done to get the volume control to appear?
