    Hi Jackson,

    Thanks for your query. ??

I wouldn’t recommend this, as this kind of functionality is intended to be available only to admins and within the admin interface itself.

If you’d like to do this, it can be done by removing the conditional statement around the three calls to add_action() near the top of the main plugin PHP file. ??

    Thanks and regards,
    Matty.

Mattyza I have seen your response to some other post problems, and your are indeed very talented!, i am writing to ask for your assistance if possible.

My posts wont display under their respective category.

    My site’s address is getps3games.com

    thank you for your time.

    Hi Brett,

    Thanks for your kind words.

Strictly speaking, this forum is for assistance with the “Matty Theme QuickSwitch” plugin. That being said, I’ll try and point you in the right direction towards resolving your query. ??

Upon inspection of your website, it looks like you’ve got a few pages that use a custom plugin or custom code to display a grid of newly-released PS3 games.

If you’re noting an issue with posts not displaying in a post category, I’d advise making a full backup of your website and, once done, deactivating plugins until you can isolate if a plugin is conflicting with the query used to display posts within a category.

If you don’t feel comfortable deactivating plugins and didn’t develop the website yourself, I’d advise contacting the developer of the website for further debugging and assistance in this regard.

I hope this helps, Brett. All the best with resolving your query. ??

    Regards,
    Matty.

Good day Matty, I have read your advise and and going to put it into action right away, and yes I am the site’s developer.

Thankx again for pointing out what can be the possible issue. I do have a lot of plugins downloaded, is that a bad thing or should I limit the amount of plug-ins I have, and also the grid of images am thinking your referring to is my custom code, nothing more than HTML in a post.

    Much Respected
    Brett.

    Hi Brett,

It’s not “incorrect”, per-say, to have lots of plugins (also, everyone’s definition of “lots” could be different). It’s more a case of, when something goes wrong, having fewer points to check makes it easier to find where the problem is. ??

If you’ve assigned a post to a category, and you don’t have any plugin that’s manipulating the query for the category archive, the data should all be there and accessible using the WordPress Loop. ??

    Regards,
    Matty.

One more thing Matty, the posts you may have seen were posts I manually edited their permalinks so they would show on the category pages when clicked, but the problem still exists, because when i try and post another post under the specified category it will not show, and when i edit the permalink i give it the category’s name so it only sows one post ={ am thinking something is affecting how their permalinks, just a thought.

Matty, that last message I had meant to send it a few hours ago, sorry about that, but! I have found the problem, after looking over the wordpress loop, it was correct so i went ahead de-activating a few more plugings, I also deleted a few unnecessary ones =\

never the less i found the problem, it was actually a plugin “Yeast SEO” wordpress SEO, not sure if you know it, but am guessing it was affecting my permalinks.

Thank you very much for helping me pinpoint the problem, I dont think I would have guessed it was that specific plugin, but because you brought up the plugin issue I made sure to check all, again thank you for you time and corporation

No problem, Brett. I’m glad I could assist. ??

I also found it useful to have the switcher visible in the front-end – and it works, thanks to your suggestion. Now changing themes is really fast – and I uninstall the plugin anyway when I’m ready working on the site. (Too bad the styles don’t show up in the front-end, but I’ve added them to my own css as a workaround.)

    Thanks again.

I don’t get the argument why this is bad on frontend. Can’t we use some is_admin() / if_user_has_capabilies(‘change_theme’) something like that so show it on frontend? I mean that was the only reason i downloaded this i like to not go to admin to switch themes. It helps a little thaugh.

The main reason for not enabling theme switching from the frontend is that you’d end up in the backend anyways, once the theme is switched (that’s the default redirect when switching a theme).

Based on the feedback above, I’ll inspect this further and see if I can find a way of integrating this into the plugin without having to switch to the backend after activating a theme. ??

    Cheers,
    Matty.
