  • Hiya,

    Nah, if you don’t have any caching plugins then it’s not something to worry about. I’m taking a look at this with the developer and will get back with you on this. If we need additional access I’ll let ya know as well.

    Thanks!

    naomi, This was a bug in a much older version of the plugin. Now it works with all properly designed themes. There must be something wierd with your theme or possibly a (SEO?) plugin that is running it’s own custom loop in the wp_header action and filtering it through the_content.

    Hello everyone

    I am currently evaluating wp-ecommerce and marketpress. One thing I wanted to do was import many products into my site. There are too many to type in.

    In wp-ecommerce, we have a csv import. This works fine except there aren’t images associated with it. So I made some modifications according to https://www.haycroftmedia.com/archives/160/wp-e-commerce-upload-adding-images-to-csv-upload. This seemed to work well enough.

    I tried to do the same thing with MarketPress. There isn’t a csv importer but there is a wp e-commerce importer. I imported all of my products with the importer. I see them and the images however all of the products don’t have a category so I have to edit each of hundred’s of products to categorize them. Is there a better way? I would like to use MarketPress but I don’t want to manually edit each product.

    The WP e-commerce importer should pull in categories and tags. We have plans to add a CSV importer soon to the full version as well.

    This plugin is great.

    Are there any plans in the future to integrate the Australia Post API for shipping?

    It would come after UPS/Fedex at least.

    HI there Farms, or whoever would like to read my question ??

    I have MarketPress Lite installed and I am happy with it, however, I am trying to change the font colour and style on the main box in the side panel of my website, so that it is in keeping with the rest of the site and stands out (currently it is black -I would like it white and in Verdana).
    I have attempted scrolling through codes to find somewhay of locating the font and colour, but I can’t find it… Please can anyone help? If you take a look at our site, you will see it on the left hand side under the widget “Shop”. Also, if you click on the “browse Products”, some of the products have “More Options”, but the font colour isn’t right (needs to be black). Again, if you were to purchase something (pretend that is -unless you want to go the whole way!!), you will also notice other key boxes where the writing should be black on top of the pale highlighted background, but they are not -such as Shipping info… Website is https://www.tall-trees-rising.co.uk
    Any help, I would be SO much appreciative.

    With thanks,

    You should really get aquainted with Firebug.

    Change the color on line 302 of your style.css file:

    .sidebar {
        color: #FFFFFF;
    }

    Wow…!! Thank YOU Aaron!!! fantastic… -Would you have any idea where I locate the coding to change the font? It looks as if it is Times Roman at the moment, and I’d like it to look in sink with the rest..

    Many thanks again!

    New user here.

    I added the MarketPress Lite plugin to a new WP site and have two questions at this point that I hope someone can help with.

    The site is to be used as a catalog and I’ve found the option to turn off the shopping cart but the price and buy button still shows on the items. Is there an option I’ve missed to remove those?

    The second is regarding adding products. How can I add them in bulk from a CSV file?

    Thanks for your time and help.

    Aaron – thanks for the pointer on theme/SEO etc. I will investigate (ie get someone else to).

    I now have a different problem. If the customer buys the last item of a product (ie leaving 0 inventory for that variation of the product) it goes into the cart, but then the drop-down disappears, preventing her from adding another item, say in a different size.

    Any clues?

    Hi!
    I’m thoroughly impressed with Marketpress. I’m testing it for the first time today. It’s fantastic to have alternatives to the pitiful WP-Ecommerce!

    I did find a very small issue which I think you would want to know about…. I did a Paypal sandbox test and went right through the whole process. Awesome so far!

    The only glitch I found was in the confirmation email. Because I have an apostrophe in my site name, this showed up in the email “from” as a character entity instead of the apostrophe. I was going to publish it here, but even with code tags it didn’t work. ?? So let’s just say it is the entity that I would expect for that symbol, but it’s not user-friendly.

    I am set to use the usual UTF-8, btw, and reading my email with Gmail. I would guess that a few other symbols might come through this way, so maybe a routine could be written to fix those on the fly.

    Hope this helps. Very nice work!
    Cheers, Dave
    PS: I was going to mention this on your forums, but it looks like only non-free users get access to that.

    Hi, since Aaron and some of the WPMU gyus are contributing here I thought I try to ask them if there is any way to combine/merge checkout steps in MarketPress without heavy customization?

    I am using manual-payments and would like to e.g. have the shipping form and payment-instruction on the same page and possibly go straight from there to the confirmation page.

    I’ve gotten pretty familiar with the source-code of the plugin while trying different alterations so you can throw anything at me ??

    Best regards,
    Andri

    I am very interested in purchasing the membership for the plugin, but I have one question. I am opening a store that requires a customer to purchase a QTY of items, and then upload two files to the store after they place their order, or while they are ordering, either way.

    I just need to know is it capable of adding this function into the plugin? A simple 2-file upload feature for their product that they purchase? And possibly set an upload size limit as well.

    Thanks in advance all!

    Hi,
    I just started using marketpress lite on my site and so far like it very much. https://www.catrinasgarden.com . I got some test products entered and then tried to run through a purchasing test. I see that setting up the pay pal is going to be a mindbender for a newbe like me so before doing that I have to make sure that the shipping is going to be okay. The only shipping option that I see besides “manual” is “flat rate” is that correct or is there a way to configure various shipping prices for different items? We are going to have some large heavy items so this will be vital.
    Any suggestions how we can solve this problem?
    Thanks,
    Catrina
