  • Hi Chip,
Any progress? The issue seems to be that if the map is on a PAGE, I can see it under existing maps to edit; if the map is on a POST, no existing maps are found. The screen shots above are of a POST. The map on the home page is fine… but I really would like to be able to edit the icons on the existing maps in the posts without having to recreate the maps.

I can go in and redo, but I would like to know why existing maps show on pages, but not posts.

Thanks for all your help on this.

    Hi Sue,

Knowing it’s related to posts and not pages will help us track it down. I will share with our team and we will get a fix out as soon as we can, but it’s likely to be next week at the very earliest.

    Thanks!

    Hi Sue,

Can you try something for us? In the post, can you highlight the entire block for the map in your post – from [mqMap … to [/mqMap] and click the Map Builder button in the editor bar and see if that pulls up your map and allows you to edit?

    Thanks!

Progress… somewhat. It works on some posts, not on others. At this point I only have 9 posts, and 7 have maps, so I checked all of them. I was able to get to the maps and edit on 5 of the 7 posts using this method; and two of them were ones I needed to make changes, and was able to add my custom icon and update the map information. so that’s good!

Of the remaining 2, when I highlight the map code, and click the button, I am taken to the screen to create a new map – and one of these two I do need to update with our custom icon. It doesn’t seem to pick up the information from the previously created map code.

Maybe I’ll just recreate those two (better than re-doing 7!).

Another interesting glitch (I mentioned it above in a previous post, when I click the SAVE button on the far right under the map size and alignment options, I get a white screen that hangs. The only way I have found to get out is to hit the back button on the browser, and then hit cancel on the far right. The funny thing is, changes I made appear in the generated code.

Let me know if you need log in access. The site on my testing server (in development) is https://larennetworks.net/DeNova

    Hi Sue,

Glad that helped on some. We think we’ve identified one of the issues you’re experiencing. I’d be happy to login in and record some information for our developers if you like on the others.

You can email me at tools [at] mapquest [dot] com.

    Thanks!

Log in information has been sent. Keep me posted! I won’t be working on that site today, and I will let my partner know you may be looking at things as well. Thank you for spending this time – it is much appreciated!!

Thanks Sue. Received the login information. Can you let me know which two posts try to create a new map instead of allowing you to edit the old one? If you can email me those, it would be much appreciated!
