[Plugin: Maintenance Mode] maintenance mode makes wp-cron jobs not work

Hi, I noticed that the Maintenance Mode prevents wp-cron jobs from running while the Maintenance Mode is active–such as scheduled posts, or more importantly, automatic backups that rely on wp-cron. I’d really like to keep my autobackups working as I build my site.

Is there anyway to allow wp-cron jobs to still run, even with Maintenance Mode active?
