[Plugin: Maintenance Mode] breaks flash upload
-
hi, i’m using wordpress 2.8 and maintenance mode 4.3
there is an option “Deny non-administrators to access the blog’s back-end”
when this is ticked, the flash uploader in the “upload new media” page is broken.
when the uploader works you see the progress bar and then a form is presented allowing the user to edit details of the file
when “Deny non-administrators to access the blog’s back-end” is ticked, the uploder works but then does not display the form allowing the user to edit the details of the file. instead the maintenance splash screen is displayed in place of the form!
on another note, i don’t understand the logic behind this tick box anyway. so, by default, a non-admin user is blocked from the front end but can still see the back-end? this seems backwards to me.
the plugin blurb says “This plugin adds the capability ‘access_on_maintenance’ to the role ‘Administrator’.” so, surely wordpress should require the ‘access_on_maintenance’ capability for a user to be able to view the back-end making this option redundant?
