• I am adding the MailChimp subscription form to the WP Ellie theme. Even though there is room for the subscribe button to the right of the email form box, the subscribe button falls down to the next line. And instead of just being left justified, which would look OK, it indents partway, making the formatting look like a mistake. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks.

If possible, I would also like to edit the width of the email form box. But that’s secondary to the alignment issue.

  • The best thing to do is turn off the “custom styling” option and see how things look. They may be better immediately. If not, you’ll can addCSS to your theme to specifically style the form.

    Hi padredenny,

Not sure whether you managed to fix this but I had similar styling issues and did some digging into the MailChimp plugin folder to see if I could edit the CSS.

In the mailchimp.php file around line 78 – 99 you will find all the in page styling that occurs. Editing the .mc_signup_submit class and a few others allowed me to style it as I wished. I know this is a complete hack but for me it works perfectly for my client… Just need to remember to update the CSS should I ever update the plugin ??
