• My site worked fine before installing the plugin and after I deactivated it my site went back to normal. In the meantime it somehow “turned on” a “display: none;” style for several jquery parts of my site. I even tried unchecking use javascript and it didnt help. Same with the jquery. It’s a shame since I have mailchimp and can’t find a plugin to use that doesn’t require me to start a new mailing list with their service. ??

  • MailChimp is a pretty powerful plugin and it’s true that it uses JavaScript for some portions of the frontend. However it’s most likely that it affects a plugin of yours or your theme so it is not necessary to blame. Try deactivating all your plugins or switching the theme in order to find where exactly the conflict is.

    Hey there!

Looks like I got beat to the punch, there. Do let us know if you find out if you have a conflict with a specific plugin or theme. We’ll be happy to have a look at that on a more specific level.

Found that IE 6 and 7 don’t like the trailing comma, on lines 142 and 154 in mailchimp.php. (version 1.2.6 )

Thanks for the heads up, again, wb!

    We’ll pass it along. ??

    Hi there,

I’m actually seeing an issue with the plugin’s JavaScript, as well. I was using Cufon on my site and when I turn on the plugin all of my text that used Cufon just disappeared. I’ve used the MC plugin before and it works great! I’m not entirely sure where I can change were it loads the Jquery files so I can just have them all load from the same place just once. I’ll play around with it and see if I can figure it out, though.

Here is the error I saw in the Developer Control Panel only after I turned the plugin on:
Uncaught TypeError: Object function (a,b){return new e.fn.init(a,b,h)} has no method ‘widget’

I’m using TheStyle theme from Elegant Themes.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

    Hey there!

I’ve tried to replicate the same behavior, but Cufon and the latest version of MailChimp do seem to be running in harmony. Do you see the same error upon switching themes, by chance? Additionally, have you tried to disable the “datepicker” javascript under “Settings” -> “MailChimp Setup”?

Let us know if we can help with anything else.

    Cheers
