• Hi, I’m working on a site, and had it all going nicely until I updated to WP 3.5. The problem is that one of the plugins (WP UI) doesn’t now do what it should with the update, and the author has apparently ‘disappeared’ (i.e. no support/update).

I am struggling to find a replacement plugin (tabs/dialogue box), and am tempted to revert to the previous WP update where everything worked fine.

I know this is not an ideal scenario, and am wondering how long it would be before I ‘ran into trouble’ if I reverted to the previous version of WP? The other plugins that I use are askimet, easy fancybox, and nextgengallery,

Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated, Earl

  • Please try WP 3.5.1 that has been released by now.

IMO, it depends on the popularity of your site, the security in place on your host, etc. If your site is quite famous, a site may get infected very quickly, considering most security attacks are automated these days.

Hi Pothi Kalimuthu, thanks very much for your advice, a friend said the same thing about security, will try and find an alternate jquery plugin for creating tabs. Yes, even though the site will be a niche/low hits site it might be attacked as the hacks are automated. Thanks again Gareth
