I’m having a major problem with getting into the site from IE8. I can get in from Firefox, Chrome and Safari but not IE8 either 32 bit or 64.

When this started I had Login Lockdown installed. Thinking that was the problem i deactivated and deleted it. It didn’t help. removed all plugins to see if i had a conflict. Even with no plugins installed I still could not access the dashboard via IE.

I even cleaned the cache etc,

Has anyone ever had this problem with this plugin? It’s not installed not but it was when the problem started. Could somthing have been written to the database that stayed and that is causing the problem. (I know, don’t use IE. I won’t but my client won’t change) Site itself views ok.

    Thanks

  • If you deactivated and deleted the plugin then obviously the plugin was not the issue. Additionally, that plugin doesn’t distinguish between browser versions. It uses it’s own tables to determine whether or not someone should be locked out, and does not modify the core WP tables at all.

Did you ever figure out what the issue was?

Actually, it did get fixed but it was done by the hosting company who gave a lot of double talk about what they did. But I’ve used the plugin since then on other sites and have had no problem. So. sorry, I can’t tell you exactly what it was.
