I meant caption of course ??

    Hello motylanogha.

I believe this is returned as post_excerpt for the caption and post_content for the description. I will look into this and update the plugin (again) to include this as an option.

Thank you Banden – please let me know if it is done! ??

I think it should be as an option to choose:

    – display file name
    – display caption of the file
    – display title of the file

    That’s the best solution.

    Good News Motylanogha!
Version 1.4 of the List Related Attachments plugin is now ready, and it should now do exactly what you requested. The following features have been added:

    1. Option to select the orderby value to define what to sort the list by. Here is more information on the orderby parameters
    2. Option to select the order value to define in which direction (ASC/DESC)
    3. Option to select the link text that is displayed in the attachment list (Title/Caption/Description)

    Onwards and Upwards!

unfortunetly 1.4 doesn’t work with changing order and doesn’t show up caption ??

I’ve tested it on 2 WP’s [one was clean instalation]

Improve it please in 1.5.. I hope it’s a small bug somewhere.. fingers crossed! :)))

v1.4 has now been tested on 7 WordPress installs in the last 12 hours and it is working
like a charm. The orderby, order and description link text options have all been tested with thumbs up results. Can you post a link to the site you are having trouble with? If there is a problem, I really want to get it fixed!

Thanks to motylanogha for helping trouble shoot the issue with the shortcode! v1.5 is hot out of the oven, and solves all shortcode issues with the plugin.

    Again, onwards and upwards

    Hi Baden
I found current version not to wok at opera/ie – works fine at FF/chrome.

In title I’ve got a message, file’s not found in title.

    Thanks

    Hey Hey Motylanogha!

Sorry for the delay in responding: It took a while to dust of the PC and get hammered enough to use IE… that sorry excuse of a browser that using is like licking a cold rusty spoon.

Anyway. We tested the plugin in “title mode” and it seems to work fine on IE… at least on twinpictures.de

Can you post a link to the page you are having trouble with–don’t want to leave you hanging like that, but we need something solid to troubleshoot.

    Regards,

    yeah!
Baden – would you consider a bit of development of your plugin?

I mean eg.: listing all unique pdf attachements used in wordpress containing title or label like *pricelist*

So I would make a post template containing some hardcode like:
    <php echo do_shortcode('[list-related-attach type="application/pdf" unique="yes" show="caption" orderby="menu_order" count="10" title="*pricelist*"]'); ?>

Sometimes posts of pages refer to the same attachement. So if unique=”yes” the list would contain only uniqe references.
If unique=”no” or there’s no unique – the list would contain a complete list of all pdf attachemnts used in wordpress..

What do you think about such a solution?
