After changing themes, when I go to access the plugin page from my dash, it redirects me to the home page. In all the years I’ve been working in WP, I’ve never seen anything like this before.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • So, you suspect the theme?
The only thing to do is switch and test, themes, plugins, combinations.
Did you change anything in htaccess? Did you save Permalinks? What else changed?

Nothing changed at all. As soon as I noticed it, I switched back to the previous theme, signed out, signed in, and it’s still doing it.

    I’m totally, completely stumped.

    and it’s still doing it

This sounds stupid, but make sure your restart your browser fresh when testing. Browsers can cache redirects. So even if the problem is “solved” the browser may be hanging on longer than you expect.

Yeah, that’s really strange. Whenever mysterious redirects to the home page happen, I tend to suspect a mod_security rule is triggered.

If you FTP in to the server, are there any new plugins in the /plugins folder? I’d check to see if the theme installed any plugins there.

I fixed it. It was a caching issue. Had worked on it in Chrome and Firefox, so was happening in both. Finally, on a whim, after thinking it was a firewall issue, I tried it in Safari..and it worked fine.

Go figure. Thanks for the responses everyone.
