    oy, me too – the uppermost category controls all the other category labels.

    I figured out how to get around the problem. !!!

    1. Create a Dummy Category (I named mine ’empty’) – this category might need to have a double digit ID, not sure about that, but mine did.

    2. Create a Widget Instance with your Dummy Category selected

    3. Place the EMPTY widget on the TOP of the stack of widgets. (in number one position)

    4. DO NOT create any posts that are tagged in that category – TA-DA!

    This solves something that allowed me to create a real Newspaper style Blog – with a list of Categories on the left and the listing of all the post Titles in that Category.
