    Hi,

I’m currently testing out your plugin, and so far it’s the best one that I’ve came across for WordPress.

However I would like to place the ‘like’/ ‘Dislike’ in a different position of my posts. So my question is- How do I disable auto insertion, and which code do I need to paste to my ‘posts’ php page to get it to display in my custom position?

Lastly- I’d like to edit it a little.. currently I have it displaying:
    (1) Like! | (0) Dislike!

    I’d like it to display:
    – 1 Like! – 0 Dislike!

As you see, those are very minor changes, but to fit in with my theme, this is a must.

    Many thanks,
    Tom

    Hi Tom!

Thanks for testing our plugin, while it’s still in the early phases we hope that you like it.

Auto-insertion will be updated in the next version of the WP-plugin. In this version, you will be able to either choose where to put the buttons using add_action or simply using the auto-insertion.

Customization of the buttons and texts including colors is something that is on the notorious “to-do”-list. And both features are on high priority.

    Tommie

Excellent.. thanks for the response, and for adding the topic here.

I’ll look forward to future versions of this plugin so I can add it to my site. ??

Nice! A quickly released update ??

It’s nice to see we can now disable auto-insertion, then add it manually to our theme(s). However I’m still unable to use it on my site as even when inserting it manually to my theme, it still doesn’t look right.

It would still be great if we had access to the actual templates, or at least the text template so we can edit it to our liking.

It’s rather annoying as this plugin is great, but due to very simple styling issues, I am still unable to use it.

This image shows exactly what I’m looking to achieve with your plugin:

I’m hoping that in one of your next updates you’ll have styling options as I really don’t want the headache of messing around with GD star rating lol.

    Hi jeffreeeeey,

Allowing (with the lack of a better word) total customization is quite hard to accomplish, as the buttons are technically shown off our servers.

I’ll see if we can do something about it, but sadly we won’t have anything done in the near future as this is a complete overhaul of how the system is designed.

But i like the idea of it, allowing people to add the LikeBot functionality directly in text-blocks ??

    Regards,
    Tommie

Sorry for what may be a dumb question, but why are the ‘buttons’ shown directly off your servers? I dont understand why they’re not distributed with the plugin files for us to host on our own server?

As you see with my screenshot.. I dont even want to add ‘buttons’ to my template.. just simple text links is all I would like.

Again, I apologize if I’ve misunderstood, or asking a dumb question here ??

    Hi jeffreeeeey,

    It’s not a dumb question, it’s quite a valid one ??

The idea behind LikeBot is to make is a easy as humanly possible for it’s users. That includes no setup, no authentication etc. The flip-side of that coin is that you get a little limitations in regards of customization. Technically the buttons/text/data is delivered from our servers to keep this easy of use idea going, hence – makes it hard for you to customize the text.

Though we have some ideas on how this can be achieved, we’ll let you know when we have something to show ??

    Have a nice weekend

great! Will look forward to future updates on this.

**Sorry this is my original WP account- finally found the login for it. ??
