[Plugin: Lightbox Plus] Can you use local videos?

I have a few videos on my server (.mov, .mv4, and .mp4) and I’m trying to use this plugin the same way as you would for an image, i.e.
<a href="https://mydomain.com/previews/vintage-blue.mov" rel="lightbox[preview01]" title="my caption">Video Preview #1</a>
and I keep getting the error, “Request unsuccessful: error.” I’ve copy/pasted the url, so I know that it is correct.
Am I trying to do something that isn’t supported, or am I doing it wrong?
