• When LS plugin is enabled, the last commenter name and email shows up in the comment form fields for all subsequent page viewers. IE, a user JOE with email [email protected] makes a comment w/ “save my name, email..” checked. And subsequent viewers of the page will have the name and email fields in the comment box already filled in with JOE and [email protected].

This is obviously not the desired behavior – no viewers of the page should see any other commenter’s name/email already filled in.

Tried to flip a few of the switches in the cache setting page related to logins but no effect (and per the descriptions didn’t really think it would help).

I’m just a simple admin with very limited knowledge of the plumbing so really do not know where to look to fix something like this problem. Any help appreciated.

You probably have two very similar, I didn’t read the fine print before sending the first so did not save the report # to post here. Sorry!

    Thanks for your assistance

Hi – I just checked to be sure – enabled LS, posted from a different browser without the save name option, refreshed in another browser and it worked properly. So yes, it only happens when LS is enabled and the user checks to save their details for next time.

OK – just did one test myself, seems to be working now. I’ll leave everything enabled and see if any complaints from the commenters. Thanks for your assistance!

A bit beyond me – will that comment_author code change in the future? That is, is it tied to the specific version of wordpress installed? Is it linked to the theme? If so, where would I find it so I can update myself in the future without bothering anyone on here again?

as far as I know , this value is generated when you set up the wordpress , so it should remains unchanged
