    Hi there Robert,

Greetings from Ireland and a big thank you for one of the best WordPress plugins I have come across.

A quick question – I want my site to re-size for mobile users automatically. I am using a responsive theme to achieve this but I am having some difficulty in making Leaflet maps behave!

I attempted to change the settings of the each layer/market to % but this has a strange effect. It appears to move the starting center point of each layer/marker several degrees to the west.

I also reverted back to fixed px dimensions with iphone screen size (e.g. 320×480). However, this is not ideal because it’s too small for desktop users and doesn’t work for smartphones of different sizes and in landscape.

    – You can see the map in question by clicking here

    I’m using:
    – WordPress version 3.4.1
    – Leaflet Maps Market version 2.5
    Responsive Theme by ThemeID

Can you help? I am sure I am missing something very simple.

    Many thanks,
    Derry

  • Hi Derry,

thanks for your great feedback – this motivates me to keep on adding new features to the plugin!

Concerning responsive design: I havent looked into this issue yet but will definitely do so if v2.6 is out…please be patient…
    regards,

    Robert

PS: I’d really appreciate your vote for the plugin on www.remarpro.com ??

    Hi Derry,
Isabella said on github (https://github.com/robertharm/Leaflet-Maps-Marker/issues/25#issuecomment-7043682) that setting width in % worked with her fluid themes. Can you confirm again, the problem please?
    regards,
    Robert

    Hi Robert

Thanks for getting back to me again. It worked!!

One tiny piece of constructive criticism might be to add that having all of the following options for px/% widths is just a little bit confusing:

    • On the main settings page under ‘Market Defaults’ tab
    • On the main settings page under ‘Layer Defaults’ tab
    • On the Tools page under ‘Change settings for all X existing marker maps’
    • On the Tools page under ‘Change settings for all X existing layer maps’
    • Under each individual Layer and Marker

Maybe an idea to simplify? Otherwise, I would repeat my admiration for your work. This plugin and your support are both beyond excellent. Consider it rated (5 * * * * * ?? !!

    Cheers,
    Derry

    Hi Derry,
great to hear that my plugin now also works with your fluid theme.
Concerning your feedback: dont know what to change currently – each point you listed has a different function for changing maps width – maybe it is time to rethink the interface from scratch – although currently I keep on integrating new features.
Anyway: if you have further ideas, let me know!
    regards,
    Robert

    Hi,
I have the same issue than derrynairn. I tried to do what he said but it did not work. For now the only solution is to deactivate the Responsive Layout from my template.

    What should I check?
Thanks for your help and congratulations for the great plugin!

    please provide an url!

ps: I’d appreciate your vote for my plugin on www.remarpro.com ??

    Hi Robert,

Thanks for the answer! This is the url: https://goo.gl/GQOuK
The Responsive Layout is now activated
    You earned 5 stars ??

thanks! I will take a look into your site in about 1-2 weeks as I am currently only accessing the site via ipad which doesnt offer the required debug mode…

Great! I will now activate an “Under Construction” mode, but I will reopen it in some days. Thanks

    I might add to that:

Our site is going to be full responsive as well, and I make the maps either:

    – 300 px wide (markermaps)
    – 100% (layers that need more space)

    It works like it should.

But, for instance, I have a huge map of South America on a full page, when that is presented on a mobile device, it’s borders scale down nicely, but the zoom doesn’t change with it. Is there a way to make the map scale on zoom proportionately?

    Adventurous greetings,
    Coen
