[Plugin: Lazyest Gallery] timing of slide show

I am testing an upgrade of Lazyest Gallery from 0.16.4 to 1.0.4. The only thing I see a striking difference is in the timing of the slide show, specifically where the captions pop up from the bottom–they go up and down so fast you can’t read them. Is there a way to slow them down? The slides have a 5-second interval but the caption is barely up for 1 second.
