    You have a problem with wanting too much memory. This is not a limitation on the plugin’s part but on your server environment. If you want to load a very large datafeeds on a marginal server environment you need to either take smaller feeds or increase your memory.

    Feeds up to 30.000 articles will load fine on most simple shared accounts.

    The instructions are in the works (as has been mentioned).

    My server is not a small one, and I have no trouble in loading CSV files to them, though they are dropship sites running on Zencart. The CSV file I was trying to load was not that big in its tar.gz form it went just 4.3 meg. Some 3000 products only.

    With a plug in as attractive as this I think that it would be really great if you was able to FTP a unziped file strait up to the server this would take a real lot of the strain away from the server. Just like Csvpig does and a few other plugins, it seems that this is where many of these Affiliate plugins let themselves down. Exspecialy such a good plugin as this one, that is really going the right way. I have seen your vidios and the instrutions and though I may well be a little dim, I find if you know how to use a plugin things come very easy, if the instrutions are very clear, there should be no problems. But reading your own forums which are not used that much as far as I can see, people are having problems with this aspect of the plugin.

    I feel you would be far better making a help forum on this wordpress site.
    Sorry for being a bit down about the plugin, but when I came across it on the download site.I thought to myself this is the plugin for me, when you design the plugin please remember that all of us do not have top quaility servers and can not when starting out afford them.

    Sorry forgot to say I am running wordpress 3.0.4 as I always keep up todate, my servers memory I believe for me is between 512+meg and my own computer is 3gig so you help is needed.

    We’re hearing the requests for more tutorials and functionality.

    Remember, this is a conversion from personal pro-tools to the general public. These tools weren’t meant for the general public to begin with. We are hardening the scripts and are adding support as we speak. Around version 1 – 1.5 we expect the general public to grasp most of it. For now it’s geared to the die-hards.

    Current versions are still below 1.0 !!

    Having said that we did put some added info in the latest version and added more functionality to the csv loader.

    Stay tuned and keep updating the latest versions. As we mention often, our teams are hard at work and updates will be follow each-other at a modestly rapid pace.

    Hi, Its good to see you are making time to reply.

    I still think your system is broken. I tryed many times to remove an error message I had it is like a bad Virus that you can not shift.

    In the end I had to goto my C/panel and completely delete the domain it was under. Having done this I reinstalled just wordpress. Then I installed your plugin, so there was just the default plugins plus your Lane66. I convered half of one of my Webgain feeds to a tab delimiter text file. ( as I had noticed all your files on the first vidios had ended in .txt ) I upgraded first to .8 uploaded the file which all went well ( followed your new Vidio that came with the upgaded .8 ) got about five good previews upload the procced file to the database, got the yellow veiw warehouse updated with 5000 products so all was well there.
    Went to the Build a shop page and was told ( you can not build a shop you only have 10 products in your warehouse. Now I have just been given the O.K. that there was 5000 product successfully loaded into the warehouse. Can you give any Idea why????? I am sure that other people that are reading this post would like to know as well.

    I must say that the new upgrade with the vidio did help a lot. But I am now stuck as to why the plugin is giving conflicting answers. In the free adition there should be some means of deleting CSVs from the database not just in the premiun addition, as you are stuck with an error message, which does not give people the confidence to take up the premium addition.
    If you think this is just me, I am quite willing to give you my admin panel password, for you to take a look yourself. Sorry to be making so much criticisim, but I am a bit of a die hard and will not give up on things that I think will come good in the end. Hope you have time to answer this post and not just discard it, you have been really good in answer so far and this is what is needed.

    First off : WE NEED people like you. If we do not get feedback we can not improve things. Our biggest jumps forward in all our plugins always come when a user digs in and tells us about their experiences.’
    We do prefer to have these discussions on our forum ( https://lane66.com/forum ) simply because we get notified better and we’ll reply sooner. Our 2 teams control more than 25 plugins and it’s hard enough to keep track of discussions.
    Lane66.com is a very fresh start-up side-project so bear with us ………..

    Second : Of course everything always works perfect on our systems ?? but we need to hear how things are on the other end.

    To replay to your post above: We did notice the same “problem” with the 1st feed that gets loaded into a virgin system. Having said that all subsequent feeds load fine on all our test platforms. we’ll switch the order of things a bit to get this bug out in v 0.9.

    Keep in mind that since we create our own database table we never mingle or mess with the original wordpress tables. Apart from creating actual posts from our products everything stays separated.

    there are more tools coming prior to v 1.0 and these will be available to all users.
    Keep the comments coming and keep remembering that we do not regard our product as “hardened for general public” until we reach v 1.0

    You mention an error that caused you to re-install, but you do not provide the error-message itself. can you elaborate ?

    You do not need to rename feeds to .txt – the extensions .gz and .csv should work too. (Naturally .gz files will automatically get unzipped by the plugin).

    Hi,
    I am back, been longer answering this reply because I have been trying a few things and will try to answer some of the things stated in your reply.
    Firstly on using your forum, have you really taken into account how many people use this forum, put questions and receive answers, for a plugin that looks as good as it could be! there must be at least 8 people not a very public forum, so would be really a waste of time. Where are all the rave reports you have had, what a place to publish ( on your forum ) I use this because it is much more public, have received as many private e-mails from people as you have on your forum asking me to continue with my questions.

    Re: the vigin database, I have now loaded 4 different CSV files into the database, got really good preveiws in the ( load your own CSV ) about 8000 products now, have tried god knows have many times to build a shop, and get the same answer your warehouse only has 10 products in it. I did once get an error message right at the botton of the page, saying. ERROR UNABLE TO CONNECT TO DATABASE. but since then nothing.

    Surely the main object of this plugin is to load CSV files and then allow you to create a shop, or post on your site which it is not capable of doing at the moment. Rather than move on to .9 and add more upgrades, would it not be more practical to correct what your being told and to test on a minor system first.

    As I am sure many people would really love to get the plugin work to a fair standard and the move on to the premium upgrade, but if your unable to get the free plugin working then there is certainly no way on this earth you are going to move on to a premium version that will not work because you would not be able to connect to it.

    I have noticed that no matter how many questions I ask you,you do not come back with any constructive answers to help, in that way I mean things that we could try to overcome the problems, you are just on about the forth coming upgrade. Which means that people that are trying their best to use the plugin to keep it evolving have to sit with a basicly dead website waiting for the next update, to see if anything different happens.

    None of our team has been able to reproduce your errors, neither have we heard similar issues from our member-base.
    If you want us to help you will really need to contact us privately with your WP details so we can take a look for you.

    We do not concur regarding the use of other forums. We will refrain from using this forum for support as the lane66.com forum is easier to reach and integrated inside the plugin.

    Lastly, we communicate very clearly that all version prior to v 1.0 are “hardening” versions that may come shortly after one another. Using our plugin prior to v 1.0 implies the previous.

    IMHO, Lame66 is the worse plugin I have ever seen.
    The code is full of bugs, it doesn’t run normal on 3 out of 4 servers.
    I advice people not to use it, it destroyed my database.
    Support (forum) is useless, there is no support, all they do is tell you it’s your problem, even if you payed….
    It’s about the €19,95 you have to pay monthly, nothing more.
    I personally think ‘plugins’ like this should not be in the WordPress download section.

    wow harry, you seem a little frustrated !

    the plugin is free to use and does not require you to pay for premium if you do not want to ! In fact, you do not have to use our plugin at all ! It’s a free world … If you do decide to upgrade, you will have had all the time in the world to check out all the features and workings. The plugin’s innerworkings are exactly the same in free mode as they are in premium.

    lane66 can not destroy your database, It uses it’s own tables to create data. As such, you have so far been the only person making such a claim, which seems unfounded.

    We’re sorry you seem to dislike the plugin. May we suggest you try someone else’s tools , or maybe build your own ? We will then continue our efforts for the people that do use it on a daily basis and ask us to continue development.
