• Thank you for the great plugin!

I have noticed that the plugin keeps updating the timestamp of the .htaccess file even when it’s not making any changes to it. My guess is that it’s opening the file for update before running some of its functions that could make changes to it and then closing the file at the end.

I have disabled the IP spam list because my server does not support all the Apache htaccess rules. It would be great if the file timestamp was not changed when no changes are made. I am using CyberPanel with OpenLiteSpeed and it has a cron jobs that runs to detect (timestamp) changes to .htaccess files, which makes it restart the web server.

    Thank you ??

Alternatively, you could have the plugin write to a .htaccess-ithemes-security file, compare the two files, and only update .htaccess if there are differences.

I will uncheck the ‘Allow iThemes Security to write to wp-config.php and .htaccess.’ option under Global Settings for now.
