[Plugin: jQuery Colorbox] colorbox not showing controls in sidebar

    The images are in the sidebar inserted using the NextGEN Widget, so although the images are all from the same gallery, because they are in the sidebar, colorbox doesn’t seem to recognize them as a group & I surmise that is why the ‘prev’ ‘next’ & slideshow ‘play, stop’ buttons aren’t showing.

    Images outside of the richtext area (visual editor) of posts or pages can’t be grouped automatically.

    It’s sufficient to add “colorbox-123” or some other number to the CSS classes of the images you want to group. All images with the same number are grouped automatically.

    You can do that at least for normal NextGEN Galleries, I have no idea if you can do that automatically with the NGG widget.
