[Plugin: JQuery Accordion Menu Widget] Open child items when parent selected

Hi Skyer. The menu should open the sub-menu if you click on a parent. make sure you have the “Save State” option checked if you havent disabled the parent links

I turned on Save State, and found one issue.

I have it set to “Click”, Auto Close Open Menus, Save Menu State (uses cookies), Auto Expand Based on Current Page/Item enabled.

It works as expected when you click around the menu, however when you manually visit a page (type in the address), any previously opened accordions stay open when they should close.

With the saved state on the menu will remember all open sub-menus even if you navigate from a non-accordion link

From a user experience perspective, shouldn’t only the current sub-menu be opened? Having multiple sub-menus open can cause confusion.

Then turn off save state. The behaviour you are seeing is not a bug/flaw, it is the expected behaviour from those options.

If you just use auto-expand only the current menu item will open

Turning off save state, but leaving auto-expand on, does not automatically open sub-menus when the parent is selected, so there is some unexpected behavior!

What version of the plugin are you currently using?

the “Auto Expand Based on Current Page/Item” doesn’t work for me?
I am using wordpress. 3.1… plugin vers. 2.5.4
When a link is clicked outside of the navigation, the link and subpages in the navigation do not expand.

any ideas???

The current menu item for the “mehr” link is Medizinisches Coaching, which is a top level item so there is no parent link to use for expanding the menu.

If you browse directly to https://www.nbalance.de/wordpress/medizinische-coaching/adipositas you will see the auto expand feature
