  • Hi Tom! First of all, thank you very much for your interest in Jigoshop.

Your request is forwarded to the developers, but (possible) development strongly depends on how many users will be interested in this Payment Gateway, considering also other (urgent) ongoing and planned Jigoshop developments.

    Thank you for understanding.
    Best regards, Ivica

    Hi Ivica,

Any idea when you’ll know if this will go ahead or not?

On one hand I’d very much like to try JigoShop on this current clients’ project, but on the other hand I don’t want to start using JigoShop if I cannot use this particular payment Gateway with it as it’s what the client requested.

Any updates on the matter would be good…

Or would you suggest I stick to using a different eCommmerce plugin for now?

    Thanks

Hi Tom! I completely understand your doubts and if I were you I would see the following options, if you ABSOLUTELY need this PaymentGateway and you can’t work without him, you can:

    1) if you have time to wait until more users request this Payment Gateway and Jigoshop Team dedicate themselves to make it – if you have short deadlines for your project this option is (of course) not good for you.

    2) if you want this PaymentGateway to be finished ASAP and you want by any means to use Jigoshop plugin (as this is the most promising WordPress web shop plugins with constant improvements and great support :-)) and you are wiling to pay certain amount of money to freelancer to programme it for you, than I can give you a few names to ask them for offer. Who knows, maybe the guys would be interested, the price wouldn’t be high and you can pay it and have your PaymentGateway? You won’t know if you don’t try it.

    3) If none above is OK for you, then, yes, you are blocked and your options are narrowed. In that case your client is already “chosen” web shop plugin he wants, unless you can give him option of usage many other PaymentsGateways that exist in Jigoshop (around 30!)

In each case, I wish you a good and successful project!

    Hi Ivica,

Basically our client already has a website on which uses the ‘WP Simple Paypal Shopping cart’ – he’s using PayPal to process payments at the moment. When we re-design his website however, he wants us to integrate the Payment Sense gateway. ‘WP Simple Paypal Shopping cart’ already supports Payment Sense. So, it’s simple for us really.

However I’m really keen to give JigoShop a try. 99% of our clients use WordPress, and over the last year we’ve developed a few sites with eCommerce features. I like the look of JigoShop. Problem is, I can’t ask the client to delay his website while we wait and see IF JigoShop are going to support this payment gateway.

I would integrate it myself, but a) I’m not prepared to work for free and b) The client wouldn’t be prepared to pay additional costs to have it developed. From his point of view, he already has a WP cart which works well for his needs AND it already supports his payment gateway, out of the box.

    Thanks,
    Tom

Tom, as I see it: it is obviously was not “meant to be” for time being between Jigoshop and your client, but I don’t have doubts that this “Jigoshop web shop love” will blossom in the future.

I see more and more rapid developments of the Jigoshop functions and specially Jigoshop Payment Gateways extensions, it could easily could happen that some of freelancers in the meantime develop this PG.

Until then, I sincerely thank you for your interest in Jigoshop and send you best regards!

    Hi Tom,

I have a client who is just switching from Paypal to Paymentsense. So the WP Simple Paypal Shopping Cart plugin works with Paymentsense? How easy is it to set up?

    Thanks
    Tom

    Hi Tom,

I have no idea, sorry. Currently my client is using WP Simple cart (with PayPal), but with the new site we’re either going to use JigoShop or WP-cCommerce. With the latter, there’s already a plugin available.

However I’m currently in talks with the guys at JigoShop to see if it’s worth my while developing a PaymentSense extension.

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

Ah right, sorry I must have misread your post, I thought you said that WP simple paypal shopping cart already supports paymentsense.

    Thanks,
    Tom

I’m 99% sure when I initially looked, there was a plugin available for it here: https://developers.paymentsense.co.uk/

However I’ve just had another look and can’t see it. Either I’m mistaken, or it’s been removed

In any case, I’d certainly advise using wp-eCommerce over simple cart
