[Plugin: Jetpack] "show sharing buttons on this post" keeps checking itself

My installation has BuddyPress, bbPress, and JetPack. It looks very awkward having the sharing buttons underneath each forum listing, so I unchecked the “show sharing buttons on this post” box under each Forum and hit Update. But after a second or two, the page refreshes itself and it’s checked again! Under Settings -> Sharing I do have Forums unchecked, but the sharing buttons are still appearing. What is going on and how do I get the sharing buttons off the Forums list page? Thanks in advance.
