• How would one move the sharedaddy buttons included in Jetpack to be placed before a post’s or page’s content, rather than after it? I see that in sharing-service.php the function that prints the buttons is hooked to the_content filter hook: add_filter( 'the_content', 'sharing_display', 19 );

    I’m not sure what to place in my functions.php file to override that, though.

  • There’s currently no feature to change the position of the buttons, and it’s a bit more involved than overriding something in your functions.php file.

    none? there is absolute, still, six months later, no way in any of the sharedaddy plugin code from jetpack/automattic, a way to move that stuff to the top, just after the entry-title or a by-line? i’m hoping this has changed — i really like what sharedaddy in automattic’s jetpack does, but i’ll switch to something else if i can’t get feature options to put the line of services or the “share this” button where i want.

    I would really like it if it had the option to move the buttons to the top. +1

    yep, that’s really not funny…

    right now i have a broken layout and will have to find a Custom Field replacement to the_content if i am to keep ShareDaddy and he can place himself where he pleases

    as a matter of fact, goodbye jetpack, i’m moving on

    Hi, do any one figure it out? I’m stuck.

    actually, yes, tho’ it requires a hack into sharedaddy php files you have to remember to re-do each every time you need to update the plug-in, until they include it as a feature. see this thread in the forums. good luck, works for me.
