[Plugin: Jetpack by WP] Email notifications – when do they go out?

  • Using Jetpack 3.3.2. I’m trying to determine when email notifications of new posts go to subscribers.

    I had asked Jetpack support directly, and they provided some information that turned out to be inaccurate, so I’m asking if others who use the plugin can tell me: If you publish a password protected post, does it email notification to all subscribers?

    Also, is there a way to temporarily turn off email notifications?

    No, Jetpack doesn’t send subscription emails for private or password-protected posts.

    is there a way to temporarily turn off email notifications?

    Yes, you can do so by going to Jetpack > Settings in your dashboard, and deactivating the Subscriptions module.

    Just so I can be sure I don’t wreck something… if I turn of subscription module, does it delete the subscriber list?

    No, nothing will be deleted. Your subscribers will be back as soon as you turn the module back on.
