    Exactly what information, if any, does a site running Jetpack pass to WordPress.com and other organizations, and for how long is it stored?

    Obviously some parts of the Jetpack functionality require user data or activity to be shared (e.g. the stats module), but what about others such as the maths notation tools?

    It’s important to me to be able to guarantee the privacy of users of my site, so I’m reluctant to use plugins that may pass their data on to 3rd parties, even in anonymized form. If I must, I’d like to be very clear on what that data is and how it will be used.

    Stats is the main module that is sending data to WordPress.com servers.

    Subscriptions does as well, in order to send emails.

    Jetpack Comments sends a user’s comments to WordPress.com temporarily to do authorization (if a user logs in with Facebook/Twitter/WordPress.com accounts), but does not store any data.

    Enhanced Distribution helps make your public posts and comments available to search engines, so some data is sent to WordPress.com to manage this.
