    Hello there,

Just installed WP 3.4.1 on godaddy, and the Jetpack plugin (1.6.1). When I try to activate, I get the error:

Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 408]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com. If you need further assistance, contact Jetpack Support: https://jetpack.me/support/

I’ve read several threads about this, but I haven’t figured out. I tried:

    1. reinstall the plugin
    2. deactivate all plugins but jetpack
    3. access to “https://blog.marionogueira.com/xmlrpc.php”

…but jetpack keeps on giving error. Godaddy says this is a problem with a third party app, so I must prove that the problem is on their side (if that’s the case…)

I also searched for the http error code 408, which is timeout. Any ideas?

    Thanks

What is your site URL? Has the domain been registered or updated within the last 72 hours?

The blog is on “blog.marionogueira.com”, and yes, the DNS changed yesterday…

    Thanks

The DNS change is the source of the problem. It’ll take up to 72 hours (though usually much less; 24 hours is typical) before you can connect Jetpack after a DNS change.

    OK, thanks; I’ll wait… ??

    Hi, Tim

Just to let you know (and for anyone with the same problem) that it just started working, without any further change. It should have been the DNS propagation time…

    Thanks for your help!
