    Since I updated Jetpack to the most recent version, my site has been sluggish, slow, and even unresponsive. Scrolling is jittery, it never seems to ever load completely, like it’s waiting for a website response in the background or something. When I disable Jetpack, the site works fine, and disabling other plugins while Jetpack is enabled seems to do nothing. I had to disable Jetpack permanently just to make my site readable again.

    Anyone else having this problem? What could be causing such a hanging / slowness / sluggishness issue?

    Hmmm, we haven’t heard of anyone else having problems like this.

    Just out of interest what web browser and operating system are you using when viewing your site, and have you by chance noticed that this happens in different browsers, or only one?

    At the time I was working on a machine with Firefox 5.0.1 (I don’t have permissions to upgrade). I’ve gone ahead and tried it on Internet Explorer and it works fine, so it might be a version issue.

    Yeah, Firefox is currently at version 14, and unfortunately a lot (including performance) changes between browsers. We can’t really go back and make sure that everything works on every version of every browser, so we can normally only test things a few versions back.

    Maybe try disabling the Jetpack Comments module, which uses a lot of Javascript (which would probably perform poorly in an older browser). Usage of a browser that old is likely to be very low though, so not many other people are going to have the same experience.
