• When I click on the Connect to WordPress.com button I get:
WordPress.com is currently having problems and is unable to fuel up your Jetpack. Please try again later. Error Details: 404

It appears WordPress.com is active, so I tried deactivating all of my non-mission critical plug-ins (had to leave the All In One Event Calendar on) and still no joy.

    Thoughts?

    I receive the same error:

WordPress.com is currently having problems and is unable to fuel up your Jetpack. Please try again later.

    Error Details: 404

    Please help!

I’m having the same issue right now as well.

    Can anyone help?

Strangely, me too. Must be something very recent.

    @spectrus,

I’m thinking it must be new, but let’s see if maybe we can figure out why.

    My situation:

Within the last 24 hours I have changed my domains DNS information to point at a new server and so I thought that might be my problem but I’m not sure anymore.

My site is literally brand new, latest version of wordpress and no other plugins installed other then the default ones (askimet, hello dolly, jetpack).

For others having this issue what are your circumstances?

Same error for me for the past two hours now as well. Brand new site.

I have the same issue on two different brand new sites.

brand new site, put up 2/1/12. No probs on existing sites with same server/host

    Hi folks,

    I’m looking into this issue.

Be aware that if you’ve recently registered a domain name or changed your DNS name servers, it can take between 24 and 72 hours (usually 24 to 48, but in rare cases it does take 72) for the changes to be fully made.

To help me diagnose this issue, wait 72 hours from the time you made DNS changes or domain registrations, then try connecting Jetpack again. If you are still seeing the same error, please report back here.

    Thanks,

    Tim

Tried it from my home this morning and we’re good.

Yep worked this morning. While it was a new wp install the domain and DNA hasn’t changed for more than a year. So doubt DNS propagation has anything to do with it.

Ok, so I tried it this morning and received a new error:

“site_inaccessible Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 503]. If you are hosted with Go Daddy, they are aware of this issue, and we at WordPress.com are working with them to fix it. If your site is hosted elsewhere, please contact Jetpack Support: https://jetpack.me/support/”

    I host with Hostgator.

After making my initial post on here with the 404 error I installed the Elegant Themes plugin called “Anticipate” and so I simply de-activated just that one and suddenly it worked.

    Hope this helps someone else!
